Admin Backlog

I don't know why really, but over the past month or so I have had no real inclination to make much jewellery. Reading other crafty blogs, it seems I shouldn't be at all suprised, others seem to go through phases like I just have.
Anyway in true me style I gutted my junk room - sorry studio yesterday. I took everything out, tidied them all up, had a good clear out and clean and then put it all back. I just seem to need to do that every now and again. When I start on the wardrobe though, then its time to worry!
It's not just the "studio" that has been cleared, I also got rid of some odds and ends on Freecycle. I LOVE that site, its the best thing for recycling. I managed to find a new home for some excess toys, some storage boxes which were just the wrong size, some old padded envelopes (I buy far too many beads LOL ) and some roll of cellophane left over from when I used to make cakes for WI Country Markets and everything had to be wrapped just so. Check out Freecycle
here. It is so easy, find your local site, sign up, post an item and hopefully someone will take it off your hands. You can also reply to offers, obviously and ask for items. I picked up some autumn fruiting raspberry canes for my green patch yesterday.
After all that my brain is feeling a bit more chilled and I am back to making the jewellery. I am currently working on a charm bracelet using teal and purple beads by
Laura Sparling.
I also managed to photograph the bracelet made with Isabelle Andersons beads.
Blue Moods

As ever beautiful beads from Izzy, in this set each one had a different patterning to it. I think they look stunning with the handmade Karen Hill Tribe hammered silver beads and the clear blue Czech glass.
Am off now to update my website, another thing I have been neglecting. I plan to upload all my current stock and then.....have a clear out!

Catching Up

I've been a bit slack on the jewellery making front the past few days, I just seem to have been busy doing other things. Then again if i really wanted to make some I would have made some time :)
I did manage a couple of pieces, one with some lovely blue beads by Isabelle Anderson and the other a charm bracelet using a really summery set of beads by Angie Finn. I have named the latter Fresh as a Daisy, I think you may see from the pic below as to why! Really fresh summery colours and all those lampwork flowers.

Fresh as a Daisy

I took the plunge a while ago and joined facebook, but didn't do much about it. Kind of logged on, didn't upload a picture and then got a bit bored of it all. However earlier this week one of the lads I did physics with at uni managed to track me down. I did think that having a name like mine might make me easy to find, but it is surprising how many of us there are! Anyway found I have been and since then I have been a bit hooked. Finding the time to mail everyone back is proving time consuming, but I will get there at some time.
It's interesting finding out what people are up to - especially as most I haven't been in touch with for ten or so years - I look so young in some of those uni photos! Sadly though so far, only I have bought myself an alien for my solar system. Will try not to get too hung up on that matter.....off to cry over a cuppa :)

Sunny, Sunny, Sunny

Wow, what a stunning few days we have had! I have to say that does mean that I haven't been making much jewellery. However, I have managed to make a couple of pieces and will get my lovely other half to photograph them later this week. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Watch this space as they say..... below is a bracelet made with lovely monochrome beads by Rachel Dawes to keep you going. A very simple design but I think it really does the beads justice.

Chic

Sorry though if you like the look of it, as it has already gone to a new home.
On a totally different note, my green fingers have been working, or at least i like to think so. All this lovely weather has had us out in the garden so I have been diddling in my veg patch. I am so chuffed I have mange tout plants coming though as well as baby sweetcorn and climbing french beans. As for my potatoes......thay are growing like triffids.
I treated myself to a couple of potato barrels this year as I don't really have the room for them to go in the ground. They are growing so well that I banked them up Friday and had to do it again today. Lets just hope as much growing is going on below the surface as well.

Design Weekend

I am so excited, some of my jewellery is currently on display at the 10th design weekend 2008 at Tatton Park. The shop that stocks my jewellery in Lymington, Loveit-Wantit, are at the trade fair and have taken some of my jewellery with them. Check out the Loveit-Wantit website for gorgeous home and garden items.
I am still working on putting paypal onto my website (Why does it all seem to take so long?) so in the meantime.....

Stormy Waters

Beads from the ever so talented Isabelle Anderson at Flame and Glass. The detailing reminds me of white horses but the colours of stormy seas hence the name. Keeping in with the sea theme I just had to use Karen Hill Tribe Silver Shell beads and the faceted Czech glass beads really bring out the blue in Izzy's beads.
