Commissions

Finally I have found a spare few minutes and have managed to upload the pics I took of the commission pieces. One of the lovely ladies who loves my jewellery bought some beads of her own and asked me to make up some bracelets and pendants for her. Below are the results - hope you like :)

Blue Waters - beads by Su at Eithne Glass
These beads are so lovely, clear glass with blue ribbons through. I decided to bring out the blue and added faceted Czech rondelles and ridged silver beads.

Blue Strata - beads by Helen at Vammadopper

These are beautiful beads from Helen, a really natural central core edged in pale blue (my digital camera makes things so much bluer - sorry :)) and then encased in clear with matching round beads.
There was another set but I didn't manage to photograph them before they were whisked to their new home.
My website is down at the moment, I am trying to install payment by paypal...watch this space. In the meantime I will put new items here to keep you tempted.

Monkeys, Football and Beads

We have been a travelling this weekend visiting friends of ours near Stoke. Being me I decided to kill two birds with one stone and managed to coincide our visiting weekend with the Staffordshire bead fair. This was the ever bead fair I have been to and I found it really interesting, mainly being able to put some faces to some of the people I buy beads from. My friend got dragged along, but soon got a bit more interested - needless to say I have come home with goodies including some to make into a necklace and earrings for her.
Lorna from Pixie Willow Designs was there selling some stunning beads, I resisted the temptation but they are very lovely. So nice to see the beads in the flesh so to speak.
On the Saturday Stoke City were playing away but the game was being shown at Britannia stadium so the boys went off to watch that and us girls took my two year old to see the monkeys at Trentham Monkey Forest. The young ones were play fighting, swinging in the trees and rolling down the hill with made him giggle.
Will be back soon with the photos of the commissions.

Blossom

Do you ever get one of those days when you finally come to the realisation that maybe today is not your day and that the universe or someone is trying to tell you something, mainly like go back to bed and stay there all day?
What with this mornings plans changing due to the weather and then two diversions on our way to the indoor playcentre, I was beginning to think that maybe we should be staying in. However the little ones seemed to have a fun morning and the slide was fantasically fast - or it could of just been my momentum!
Thought I would show you this picture of some gorgeous pale pink and green jewellery which has just gone to new homes. Unfortunately the picture does not do these beads justice at all.

Blossom

The beads are by Laura Sparling, who has just spent the weekend at the Flame Off, Towcester race course. If you want to see how the lampwork beads are made, check her footage out on YouTube. She makes it look so easy... I am in awe.

Spring has sprung

What fantastic weather we have had over the past few days, ignoring today that is. The lovely sun and warmth inspired me to create with some of Rachel Dawes lovely floral beads. Check out her new website here.
Spring

The beads were so individual, I couldn't take the focus away from them by using silver beads, so ended up hand wiring them using Sterling Silver wire. I think they make a really delicate girly bracelet. on a similar theme.......

Sorbet

Let me know what you think.

Toddlers everywhere

Today was my sons second birthday party, his birthday was a couple of weeks ago but today was party day. Twenty toddlers running wild with a bouncy castle and ball pool great fun, and that was just the dads on the bouncy castle!
Needless to say, no jewellery making has been going on this weekend but I should have some photos to show you soon.

Starting Out

Well, I have finally taken the plunge and have decided to start a blog.
I thought it may allow me to update my Beady Pool website viewers more easily than via my website. I will give it a few months and see how it goes.
I have been a bit slack recently on the jewellery making as we have been busy with my little ones birthday and subsequent celebrations.
I have however been working on some commission pieces. A customer bought some lampwork beads of their own and asked me make some jewellery for them - watch this space for some pictures soon.
I have also just bought some really lovely beads from Rachel Dawes - watch this space for my designs using her beads.
